I'll Remember You

Rest in peace, my sweet friend
You were the first one I fell in love with. We were so young and innocent. My young heart couldn't resist your sweet smile. Our love story was such a short blip in time, but it made a huge dent in my heart. My longing for you to love me haunted my dreams for many years. I would feel you and see you turn and smile at me but you were always just out of my reach. You never reached out to me in my dreams and I always woke up with that same longing.

Years later I discovered that I also had been your first love. I cannot think of a sweeter or more precious gift to have been given from you to know that my longing for your love was not unfounded. You loved me as well. That tender first love had been reciprocated after all.

Thank you for touching my heart.

(Pennie was chatting with him online and told him that she was talking to some woman who was saying he was handsome and sweet and he was her first love and he told her right off that it was me - made me feel really special that he knew and this was his comment to me.)

That time may be long gone, but it’s still fresh in your memory, and probably, always will be.

Years pass and you think you’ve moved on and suddenly, it all flashes across your mind, vividly, like it was yesterday. That’s when you realize that their presence has been lingering somewhere in your mind all this time.

Maybe we never really get over our first love.

Your heart still sinks every time you think of them,

the excitement of being with them, what went wrong, what it could have been.

First love is silly, crazy, wild.

It’s unrealistic, even foolish.

It’s like a bird discovering it can fly.

That’s first love.

It’s adventurous and fearless.

You don’t plan it, you don’t control it, you don’t force it.

You close your eyes and just take the plunge.
