My House Full of Boys

Lord, in a world that feels so lost, show me how to raise a Daniel.
I desire nothing more than to raise my sons to become men who will pray when they’re told not to, men who won’t participate in the “feast” of sin, men who will trust you and you alone to save them from the mouth of the Lion.
Men like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendego who will stand for you when they are told to bow to an idol. And Lord you know how many idols we have. Men who will be strong, courageous, and faithful no matter the consequence.
Men like Noah who will have the willingness to use the tools and knowledge you give them to follow your directions, and not just expect you to hand them their “ark.”
Men like Joseph who can find room in their hearts to forgive the ones who hurt them the most. And who continue to seek you and your wisdom in times of darkness and trial.
Men like Moses who will choose suffering with your people over riches and pleasures of this world. Who know what the true reward is.
Men like Timothy who know that they can set an example and point others to you even if they are young.
Men like Joshua who will follow your calling no matter how silly that march may seem.
Men like David who have such bold confidence and faith in your power that they will stand up to their giants. Who know that faith in you can overcome their fear.
Men like Paul who, though they are fully flawed, still know they can repent and change when they stray from you. And that they will find forgiveness and redemption in you.
Men who understand and value the strength, beauty, and gentleness of a woman.
Men who will seek the council of the wise.
Men who will love with your heart, see with your eyes, and serve with your hands
Men like Jesus...
Lord in this time when raising godly men feels so uncertain, so opposed, so unpopular, please give me the strength to continue to focus on you. Sometimes I feel so lost in navigating this path. There is nothing my heart desires more than for my boys to be rooted in You.
Help me to shine your light and show them that Your Word will always be their best roadmap.
Follow My House Full of Boys for more on faith and family. 💙
