then even though I barely know you –

I wake up longing to be in your arms,

I go to sleep wishing I was with you

to see your smile

to touch your face

and kiss your lips

and hear your voice

and make sure you are happy and safe

to laugh with you and cry with you and sing with you and cook with you and for you

to watch you with the dogs – how they love you and how you love them

to see you encourage one of the students when he is leaning too far back ( I saw you do this Saturday)

to see the lost feeling you have in your heart from your mom and dad’s

You treat me with such tenderness and care –
