Adoration

Sunday as I was getting ready for church, Bennett sat across from me listening to cassettes of me singing at church a few years ago. As he sat there and listened I turned to him and this look came over his face – I can’t really even explain it, but it was such a look of sweet adoration. The tears in his eyes filled my heart with tenderness and a longing to hold him. I knew in that moment that I was in love with him. I climbed into his lap and hugged him and wiped the tears from his eyes. He said that he thanked God for sending me to him. I told him that he was going to be mine from now on.
